The management of the technical and operational processes of the TCIP is carried out for 5-year periods in accordance with the Catastrophe Insurance Law No. 6305.
Within the scope of the Technical Operator agreements entered into with the Ministry of Treasury and Finance, which is responsible for the surveillance and supervision of the TCIP, Milli Reasürans served as the Technical Operator of the TCIP between 2000-2005, and Eureko Sigorta served as the Technical Operator of the TCIP between 2005-2020. As of 2020, the TCIP is now managed by Türk Reasürans A.Ş., which is affiliated to the Ministry of Treasury and Finance, as the “Technical Operator”.
Türk Reasürans A.Ş. started its operations on 6th September 2019 with the aim of working in line with the needs of the reinsurance market with the amendment made to the Turkish Insurance Law. It was established with TL 600 million of capital, all of which was provided by the Ministry of Treasury and Finance.
Within the scope of the New Economy Program, Türk Reasürans A.Ş. aims to contribute to the "Economic Stabilization" and "Healthy and Sustainable Growth" objectives with a focus on the Turkish insurance industry.
